SMS Terms
These terms cover the text messages Meridian sends. Meridian is an internal on-call notification tool for a small team, operated at aotp.win.
The programme
If you are a member of our staff and you tick the consent box, we text you when you are needed on a call, at the mobile number your account already holds. We send one confirmation message when you enrol, and on-call notifications thereafter. We send no marketing, promotional or fundraising messages.
How you enrol
By ticking a consent box, which is not pre-selected, while signed in to our internal console. The messages go to the mobile number you verified when you created your account; you do not enter a number again here. Its wording, reproduced here so what you agreed to is on the record:
Text me when I am needed on a call. Meridian sends an SMS when a call needs someone who speaks your languages, plus one confirmation when you sign up. Message frequency varies with on-call activity — typically a few a week, and none while your status is off. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to stop. A mobile number is required to create an account and is verified by text at that point, so we already hold one before any of this. Ticking the box is what permits us to use it for on-call messages, and nothing is ever sent unless it is ticked.
Frequency and cost
- Frequency varies with on-call activity — typically a few messages a week, and none while your status is off.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier, not us, may charge you.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Help and stopping
Reply HELP for help, or write to support@aotp.win. Reply STOP to stop all messages immediately; we record the opt-out and will not message that number again. You may also untick the consent box in your profile, which withdraws consent. Your number stays on your account, because that is what you sign in and receive account messages with; you can remove it yourself under Account & security.
If you have opted out and want messages again, tick the box in your profile. Replying START clears the opt-out but does not re-enrol you, because consent should be given knowingly on the form.
Your responsibility
Keep the number current and remove it when it is no longer yours, so a reassigned number does not keep receiving our messages.
Changes and contact
We may change these terms and will tell enrolled staff about material changes. Questions: support@aotp.win.
